Share this linkBorde Hill is a stunningly beautiful and botanically rich heritage Garden, set within over 150 acres of traditional parkland. It captivates and delights visitors throughout each season of the year with a series of intimate 'living garden rooms', fine woodland, parkland, lakes and outstanding views across the magnificent Sussex High Weald. Located close to Haywards Heath, Borde Hill was created in the early 1900s - the era of the Great Plant Hunters - a legacy which today's visitors continue to experience.
At the heart of the garden Borde Hill House, a Tudor mansion dating from 1580, provides a superb backdrop to the formal 17-acre Garden which flows into a series of linked 'garden rooms', each boasts its own distinctive character and style.
Beyond the Garden lies 120 acres of High Weald beauty. The South Park features a variety of popular amenities, including fishing, lakes and walks.
Warren Wood and Stephanie's Glade are best seen in the spring – a very special time, since the sight and scent of banks of bluebells contrast with the bright new tree foliage - until the end of summer. The woods are predominantly mixed broadleaf trees such as Oak, Ash and Chestnut interspersed with some conifers – but many specimen trees and shrubs have also been planted, to give spectacular bursts of colour and form throughout the year. Wildlife enthusiasts will be fascinated by the rich variety of bird and insect life which flourishes in this peaceful woodland habitat.
